The Highland Bulldogs had two of the quad’s 24 scores breaking 50 and won a 4-group girls golf date Monday in Highland.
Claire Korte went low with a 44, when teammate Kalei Gould came in at 49 to pace the host Dogs to a 196 at Highland Nation Club. Father McGivney’s 207 edged Civic Memorial’s 208, when Breese Central posted a 234 in the quadrangular.
McGivney was led by Ellie Hyten at 50, with Julia Stobe and Grace Stanhaus each shooting 51 and Paige Yasitis scoring 55 for the Griffins. McGivney is six-four.
CM had two girls in the 40s when going 1-two in duals. Peyton Mormino led the Eagles at 47, with Meredith Flack at 49. Sophee Brown’s 54 and Payton Whaley’s 58 completed the Eagles scoring.
Central was led by Tori Joest at 53 and Keira Veizer at 54.
Jersey 196, Carlinville 199 – Elsa Mefford posted a medalist’s round of 40 for the going to Cavaliers, but it was not sufficient to beat the Panthers at Westlake golf course in Jerseyville.
Sophomore Bria Tuttle shot 43 to lead 3 Panthers in the 40s to push Jersey’s dual mark to five-two. Jerra LaPlant shot 46 and Madi Darr was at 49 for the Panthers, who also counted Nataly Weiner’s 58. Coming in behind Mefford for Carlinville was Marlee Witler at 51, Megan Dunn at 53 and Brigid Dunn at 55.
Jersey 186, Carlinville 187 – The host Panthers posted a 1-stroke victory more than the Cavaliers in a dual at Westlake in Jerseyville. Ethen Siglock shot 41 to lead Carlinville, which picked up a 47 from Henry Kufa and 49 from Mason Duckles.
Greenville 7, EA-WR two – The Oilers picked up a singles victory from Hannah Allen and a doubles victory from Allen and Carli Withers in a dual at Wood River.
